Well done Team GBR at the World Champs, Montpellier!
Day 2 Hoop & Ball qualifications - Anni Ahmavaara, personal coach of Kezi Gore:
“Kezi has done a great job considering her less than ideal preparation due to an injury. Ball was a bit nervous yesterday but hoop today was much more confident and performed with good pirouettes.”

"All in all a good World Championships for the team and an increase in the team score from the 2010 World Championships, Moscow to Montpellier, 224.725 to 226.175," said Steve Green
"I enjoyed my first experience of the World Championships and was pleased with my scores considering the injury I have had. 2011 National Grade Finals Success!
Three gymnasts from the City of Canterbury Rhythmic Gymnastics Club comepted at the National Grades Finals in Walsall at the beginning of May. Chloe Picton, Robyn Bate and Jessica Phillips qualified for this prestigious event through regional qualifier held earlier in the year. All three performed very well, and returned to Canterbury with a heap of medals between them. Jessica (10) finished fourth overall in under-11s competition, and was most confident with her rope routine, which earned her a national bronze medal. Robyn (12) and Chloe (13) competed in under-13s category in which they finished second and third overall. Robyn won silver medals for her hoop and ball routines, and bronze with clubs, while Chloe got silver for ribbon and clubs, and bronze for ball and hoop. "I'm very happy with all the girls' performances as they avoided big apparatus mistakes and expressed their musics well. It's great that they all won medals, as this qualifies them for the English Championships that are held in June."

Well done to everyone who performed in the National Grading at our Club on Saturday 19 March 2011.
Many thanks to all the gymnasts, coaches, judges and of course, our fabulous helpers and runners too! If you have photo of the recreational gymnasts receiving their awards please send it to us via our contacts page so we can celebrate your achievements here too!

Oct 2010 - Individual Apparatus and U11 Group Championship Round 1
In early October 2010, Canterbury City Rhythmic girls competed in 2010 Open Individual Apparatus Champs. Kezi Gore performed well in Seniors with silver in ball and rope and bronze in hoop and ribbon. In large combined U10,11 & 12 group of 42 competitors Abbie Wyver finished 4th with her free routine and Lottie Wittich & Christie-Lee Pullen finished in top ten positions with other apparatus. Robyn Bate and Alice Scharmeli both represented the club as did Jael Gore in the Junior section. The following day saw round 1 of The National U11 Group League . Competing for Canterbury were Abbie Wyver, Lottie Wittich, Christie-Lee Pullen and in her first major comp Emily Woodruff with team reserve Jessica Phillips. The format sees them compete in both group free and rope routines and this was the first of three weekend competitions after which the best two are combined to find the National Champions.
